Red Foxes are Master Adapters!

Writer's picture: Palouse WildlifePalouse Wildlife

Red foxes are highly skilled at adapting. This simply means that they are able to live in changing living conditions without these changes harming their ability to survive and thrive. As human activity spills over into more wildlife habitats, many animals move on to new places to avoid close contact with humans. But foxes have learned to adapt to many different settings that include a strong human presence. Many foxes have learned to live quite successfully in city environments under conditions that would scare away many other species.

Sometimes in urban settings foxes set up their dens in places that are simply too close to human activity. These foxes need to be carefully removed and allowed to find a better home somewhere else. Hopefully, the people who remove foxes like these will be kind and gentle like Gates Wildlife Control shown below. Check out their story on how they removed seven baby foxes that were four weeks old and allowed their mama to carefully relocate them to a safer den.
